After his collisions in the last race, Lewis Hamilton in Valencia definitely wants to see the chequered flag. He will not however be much more cautious. "I think maybe two times before a maneuver in", said the McLaren driver.
After Canada, there was plenty of criticism of Lewis Hamilton. In two races he had made himself a total four collisions. In Montreal he crashed even with his team-mate and failed then. He can not even afford a similar disaster. The World Cup train is already as good as removed.
Much more cautiously, Hamilton wants to go but not to work. "When the opportunity comes, I will take it", the 26 declared after the qualifying session. With a knife between the teeth he will not go but. "I want to finish the race course." This is the key. I will stay naturally aggressive, but where normally only once thinking about a move, I will think now maybe two times. "If an opportunity arises, I'll take it."
McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh not expected that there is a collision of its two pilots again. "I have full confidence in them." There was no intention. I have no problems with this, as Lewis is in the car. He was born as aggressive racer. "I do not want that because what changes."
An announcement did not exist supposedly at McLaren. "He has learned from it and it needs no instruction on my part" says Whitmarsh. "We estimate we very happy to have two drivers who are hungry for victories." "Of course wants to be always front and is accordingly frustrated if it is not."
Although the two Red Bull in the qualifying again a corner faster were, it doesn't give up in the McLaren camp. "We have a good car for the race." Everything is possible. We can certainly win the race. "And both will also try this."
Even Jenson button will not from baton victory yet. "I have made some serious it me in qualifying." But I don't think that they simply front fly away. If you look at the last race in Barcelona, Monaco and Montreal, then we can fight safely against them. With the DRS-zone you can overtake. And the strategy can make a difference. "I think it will be a good race."
